कर्मजं बुद्धियुक्ता हि फलं त्यक्त्वा मनीषिणः ।
जन्मबन्धविनिर्मुक्ताः पदं गच्छन्त्यनामयम् ॥५१॥
karma-jaṁ buddhi-yuktā hi, phalaṁ tyaktvā manīṣiṇaḥ
Janma-bandha-vinirmuktāḥ, padaṁ gacchanti anāmayam
For wise man endowed with equanimity (Samatā), abandoning the desire for fruit of actions (i.e., renouncing the world), freed from the shackles of birth, attain the blissful Supreme state. 51
Comment – The Karmayogī established in equanimity performs actions and crosses the cycle of birth and death, attains to God. Therefore, Karmayoga is an independent discipline in attaining liberation (Mukti).
यदा ते मोहकलिलं बुद्धिर्व्यतितरिष्यति ।
तदा गन्तासि निर्वेदं श्रोतव्यस्य श्रुतस्य च ॥५२॥
yadā te moha-kalilaṁ, buddhir vyatitariṣyati
tadā gantāsi nirvedaṁ, śrotavyasya śrutasya ca
When your understanding transcends the mire of delusion, you shall then develop dispassion to what has been heard and what is yet to be heard about the enjoyments of this world and the next. 52
Comment – The objects and persons we meet and part with, when we assume to be our own and for us, it is called ‘Mohaḥ’ (delusion). Once the spiritual seeker rids himself of this ‘Mohaḥ’, he develops dispassion with the world. With coming of dispassion (destruction of passion), he attains Yoga.
