Time is an invaluable resource. But man is engaging in consumption of alcohol, tobacco, playing cards, women, entertainment, hoarding wealth etc. etc., and not paying
attention to his invaluable resource – Time.
This time by whose power we are alive, is going by so very quickly. More money, more things ! You simply do not look at what you are doing? Wasting it on videos, movies, games, intoxicants, and many other useless activities. Not only spending your hard earned money, but also spending your life away in sinful activities and violence. All this invaluable time could have been used in attaining That Divinity, which will result in uninterrupted joy, not only for yourself but for all of humanity.
This invaluable resource – Time which could have been used to become a devotee, a yogi, to become ever blissful,
was used up in evil, sinful deeds and unethical practices, that will lead you t
o hell. Deeds such as taking away people’s property, charging poor people high interests, hurting others, unfairly taking away other’s wealth, incurring sins just to accumulate money.
Yo toh tana jaasi re jaasi.
This body is going away with certainty. You have used up this invaluable time away in seizing things that rightfully belong to others. Do you not think about this? Sometimes even land that is given to ascetics (sadhus), given to graze cows has been robbed away from decent people. All these are grave sins. Taking away a widow’s wealth or taking away a girl’s / woman’s / daughter’s wealth, these are all very sinful activities. Killing cows, encroaching on properties that were for grazing cows and animals. These types of acts are all nothing but fatal that will ultimately kill the one who has committed these sins. Their entire “vansh” ancestory will come to an end. Cheating your business partners, evading taxes, not reporting sales tax, all of these acts are sinful. The wealth lying in some banks, some treasury, all of this will stay right here and the sins will go with you. You spent all this invaluable time to get nothing, but in exchange, life after life of pain and suffering. The time that could have been used for realizing God. This human birth wasted away and now four “yugs” (period of time) could go by before you have another human birth.
Scriptures say – going to hell, until the end of Sun and Moon. That is an awfully long period of time of suffering. This invaluable time given to you is not for cheating, stealing crops, stealing cows, causing pain and suffering to others. This field, the human body, that was so fertile, was wasted away in ‘growing sins’. There is nothing as invaluable as time. There is absolutely nothing. The time of this life does not come again easily.
“DURLABH” – A rarity is the word given to ‘Time.’ You can attain God, behold Him, become liberated, get to know your true Self (tattva-jnana), get to know the divine scriptures, but instead you chose to lie and cheat. Secretly engaging in sense pleasures and enjoyments, hiding and stealing. Anything that you do in hiding will result in even greater sins.
Remember – Whatever you give secretly, even if it charity given secretly, by hiding from family, it is a grave sin that leads to hell. So, don’t engage in such activities. You will face a pitiful state. (dur dashaa).
