It is a great misnomer that by ‘doing’ (making an effort), God can be realized. Therefore doing ‘bhajan (devotion and worship of God), ‘japa’, satsang, study of holy texts, meditation, going into a deep trance ‘samadhi’, and so on, there is great emphasis on ‘doing’. One says, simply by talking nothing will happen, one must act, ‘must do’ – this notion is deeply embedded in each and every being. But I am telling you something even more exceptional, that the all-pervading existent element in the form of ‘Is’, which is immutable, that I am. ‘I’ and ‘Is’ is one. When one clearly understands this, then what else remains to be done? What else remains to be known? What remains to be acquired?
I am always-continuously in God – this is real ‘sharanagati’ (refuge in God). No one can be separate from That Omnipresent, Perfect ‘Is’ (God-essence). One has to attain this ‘Is’. And negate the ‘Not’. If the ‘Not’ is attained, at the end the ‘Not’ will remain. That which is ‘Not’ (non-existent), even on attaining it, how will it stay? Therefore, one has to realize the ‘Is’, and that ‘Is’ is always-continually (ever) attained.
