Enlightenment is naturally ever-attained, but due to our past impressions (sanskars), past beliefs come in the way,  which are unreal, but we have assumed them to be real. Just as the belief that all work takes places slowly and gradually, by devoting time, then how can realization happen immediately ? How can the ignorance from time immemorial be wiped out so quickly?  Etc. etc. This is all our misnomer. If there is darkness in a cave for millions of years, and a lamp is lit in it, then will it take millions of years to get rid of the darkness?
