Ways to Remain Cheerful

Ways to remain cheerful (joyful) – 

  • Be free from likes and dislikes (attachment and aversion) to persons, objects, incidents and circumstances etc.


  • Be impartial to all, remaining free from egoism and selfishness


  • Fill the mind entirely with divine traits, such as compassion, forgiveness and generosity etc. 


  • Have the feeling (bhava) of seeing to the welfare of all beings


  • Maintain regularity and a balanced diet.


  • Have a preference of living in solitude.


  • Speak less,  and on being asked share insights that are spiritually beneficial


  • Stay moderate in sleep and recreation.


  • Follow the dictates of the scriptures.

An aspirant who follows the above, gains cheerfulness (Joyfulness) of mind, very 
quickly.
