Ways to remain cheerful (joyful) –
- Be free from likes and dislikes (attachment and aversion) to persons, objects, incidents and circumstances etc.
- Be impartial to all, remaining free from egoism and selfishness.
- Fill the mind entirely with divine traits, such as compassion, forgiveness and generosity etc.
- Have the feeling (bhava) of seeing to the welfare of all beings
- Maintain regularity and a balanced diet.
- Have a preference of living in solitude.
- Speak less, and on being asked share insights that are spiritually beneficial
- Stay moderate in sleep and recreation.
- Follow the dictates of the scriptures.
An aspirant who follows the above, gains cheerfulness (Joyfulness) of mind, very
quickly.
