‘श्रवणायापि बहुभिर्यो न लभ्यः’ (कठोपनिषद् १ । २७) ।
Shravanaayaapi bahubhiryaa na labhyah
(Kathoupanishad 1/27)
Who will tell ? Who will tell ?
Talk lovingly with everyone, listen to everyone lovingly, look at everyone lovingly. If you give anything to anyone, give it lovingly. Let every interaction be topped with love. There is no guarantee with this body, as to how long it will live ! Now whatever life remains, behave respectfully and lovingly to all. Whether others do or not, you have no concern with it. Whether others listen or not, whether they are pleased or displeased, you do your work properly ‒
‘स्वे स्वे कर्मण्यभिरत संसिद्धिं लभते नरः’ (गीता १८ । ४५)
sve sve karmaṇy abhirataḥ saṁsiddhiṁ labhate naraḥ (18/45)
‘Devoted to his own inherent duty, man attains the highest perfection (God realization).’
Be friendly with all, respect all, be sweet and kind in your behavior. Initially you may have to undergo pain, but eventually you will come out a winner.
Everything is only the one God ‒
‘वासुदेवः सर्वम्’ (गीता ७ । १९) ।
Vāsudevaḥ Sarvam (Gita 7/19)
Besides God, there is nothing else. Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intellect, ego, embodied soul and Ishvar – these are all-in-all the one Parmatma only. In this the effort is only that you have to remember this. Wherever your sight goes, simply remember that this is God. Whatever is seen, heard, understood, is all a form of God only. What an easy point ! This very easy point has to only be remember. If you don’t doe even this, then what will you do ? If you see a tree, it is God, if you see a man, he is God, if you see an animal-bird, it is God, if you see a mountian, it is God, if you see water, it is God, if you feel the wind, it is God, if yo usee the sky, it is God Everything is only God ! Whatelse is there ! This has to be only remembered. This is not something lesser than than Naam Japa (divine Name repetition). It is even better than Naam Japa !
Questioner ‒ How to bring this (Vasudeva Sarvam idea) into our daily dealings ?
Swamiji ‒ What needs to be brought in your dealings is to not have strong likes and dislikes, to not have desires, to not get angry. If you become firmly grounded in the idea that ‘All is God,’ then likes-dislikes, desires-anger will quieten on their own. If likes-dislikes, desire-anger creep into your dealings, then call out ‘ O’ Lord ! O’ My Lord !’
